Kumari Mahalakshmi Bharadhwaj was initiated into Bharatha Natyam at the age of six. She has undergone intensive training under the able guidance of Smt. Kausalya Srinivasan who is a disciple of Padmashree Smt. Chitra Visweswaran. She performed her Arangetram at the age of 11 in the auspicious presence of Dr. Srinidhi Chidambaram, " Ezhuthu Chiththar " Balakumaran and " Kavipperarasu " Vairamuthu in the Music Academy.
She has been performing in Chidambaram Natyanjali, Madurai Meenakshi Temple Dance Festival, VDS Arts Academy and in Thirumala Thirupathi Devasthanam and several other renowned stages. She won the Best Performer Award in the VDS Arts Academy twice. She won the Best Dancer award from the hands of her Paramaguru Smt. Chitra Visweswaran in Mylapore Fine Arts Club. She did her schooling in the Sacred Heart, Church Park.
She performed exclusively for the Indo-UK Cultural exchange program representing the SRM University. She is also pursuing her Degree in Classical Dance in the Kalaikkaveri, Trichy. She taught Classical Dance to the under-privileged children in St. Lazarus School at the instance of Mylapore Times. She is also a freelancer writing for the Woman's Exclusive - "WE" magazine.
