Profiles of Music Director

Chakri is an Indian music composer and singer of Telugu film industry. He has composed music for more than 85 movies to date. His debut film as a music director was Bachi by Puri Jagannadh. He received best singer award for the Telugu film Sathyam in Tollywood Filmfare awards.

He was born on 15th June 1974 in Mahabubabad in Warangal in Andhra Pradesh. He has three sisters and one brother. He married Sravani from Khammam. He usually has the habit of giving hit films in the month of January. This is the Sankranthi festival season in Andhra Pradesh. He has given his biggest hits such as Krishna in the year 2008, Desa Muduru in the year 2007 and Devadasu in the year 2006 and these were all released during Shankranthi season.

He has been accused of plagiarism often. He is said to plagiarize the Western tunes and North Indian music. Some are even accused of being complete rip-offs like the song Nidarosthale in the film Golimaar from the song Desparado. However, he defended his actions saying that his had to do such things at the behest of the actors and directors.
