Alisha Chinoy is an Indian pop singer and playback singer. She was born on 18th March 1965 and her original name was Sujatha Chinai. She got Filmfare Best Female Playback Award for the song, Kajra Re in 2005. She also won International Billboard Award and Freddie Mercury Award for Artistic Excellence.

 Her song Seulement Vous won the first place in the international song festival, ‘Asia 2004’. This made her world famous. She married her own manager Rajesh Jhaveri and later they were separated.
 Some of her albums of earlier times are Jadoo, Baby Doll, and Aaah Alisha. She was introduced to the film music industry by the music director Bappi Lahiri. Some of the hits she gave with him include Dance Dance, Tarzan, Guru, Love Love Love, etc.

 She has done playback singing for many actresses include Smita Patil, Mandakini, Juhi Chawla, Divya Bharati, Madhuri Dixit, etc. She worked with Remo Fernandes in the album Old Goan Gold.
 She worked in many films with different music directors like Anu Malik, Rajesh Roshan, Nadeem-Shravan, Anand Milind, etc. Some of her Bollywood hit songs are Tele Ishq Mein Nachenge, Chaa Raha Hai, Roundhe, Sona Sona Roop Hai, De Diya, Ruk Ruk Ruk, Sexy Sexy Sexy, etc.

 Her album in 1995 Made in India was a huge hit. This became the highest selling pop album. Together with this, that album included many other hit songs like Sun O Meri Dhadkan, Tu Kahan, Tu Jo Mila, Ek Baar Do Baar, etc. After the success of this album she concentrated on the private pop albums.

She accused Anu Malik of molesting her and they were separated for few years and reunited in 2003 with Ishq Vishq. She recorded many songs later on for him like Fida, No Entry, Love Story 2050, Ugly Aur Pagli, etc.
