Devi Sri Prasad is a film composer and a playback singer who concentrates in Telugu and Tamil films. His soundtracks are dubbed in several other languages. He was born on 2nd August 1979 in Vedurupaka in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh and moved to Chennai, Tamil Nadu later on. His father was a school master. He studied at Sir M. Venkata Subba Rao Boys High School at T. Nagar, Chennai. During his school days, he received many prizes in dancing and singing competitions. His younger brother Sagar is also a playback singer.

His debut music album was Dance Party. He started his music direction in the year 1999 through the Telugu film Devi. He has directed music for several South Indian films and many of them are box office hits.
He wrote lyrics for the Telugu song, Vecha Vechaga in Vamsi, Premante Yemitante in Anandam, Chaila Chaila in Shankar Dada MBBS and Udayainche Suryadinadigaa and Akaasam in Kalusukovalani. He composed song for the Telugu film Vajrotsavam.

He is a big fan of Ilayaraja and A. R. Rahman. Some of the songs that he performed as a playback singer are Vecha Vechaga, Chitiksethe Alalaina, Jagada Jagada, Mudula Chiluka, Maakakrledu, Hot Summer, Lakapidathala, Tha Thai Tha Thai, Pantham Pantham, Andee Andaka, Hylessa, etc.
Some films that he composed soundtracks include Yamudu, Manmadha Baanam, Mr. Perfect, 100% Love, Adurs, Arya 2, King, Current, Ready, Jalsa, Tulasi, Bommarillu, Rakhi, Pournai, Aaru, Andarivaadu, etc. He received Filmfare Best Telugu Music Director Award three times for the films Varsham, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana and Bommarillu.

He got Santosham Best Music Director Award three times for the films, Varsham, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana and Jalsa. He also received Isai Aruvi Tamil Music Awards, Best Music Director and Cinemaa Award for Best Music Director for the film Arya 2.
